An automation system was installed using Raymarine YachtSense. Communicating with the Raymarine PLC and Raymarine displays, it lets the crew monitor and control automation and alarms from every navigation display on board.

Technical note: No separate automation panel is needed: the bridge navigation displays also serve as the common interface for the yacht's systems.

An automation system was installed using Raymarine YachtSense. Communicating with the Raymarine PLC and displays, it brings automation and alarms to every navigation display on board. Tank sensors throughout the yacht were replaced and the bilge pumps and their wiring renewed, amounting to a partial refit.

Technical note: Because sensors and pumps were renewed together with the automation, the whole measurement and alarm chain was commissioned end to end by one team.

The automation system was refitted with EXOR SCADA. The old, uncertified PLC modules were removed and replaced with new-generation certified modules and high-quality visualisation. New high-brightness glass monitors let the crew control the system from 3 different locations on board.

Technical note: High-brightness displays stay readable in daylight, and several control points give the crew access to the system wherever they are on board.

The faulty automation system was refitted. The entire yacht software was redesigned with new-generation certified PLCs and graphics, and remote monitoring was added to the whole automation system.

Technical note: With remote monitoring, alarms and system status can be followed without being on board, shortening the response time to a fault.

Technical note: Because the automation was designed at the build stage, wiring, panel layout and class documentation were planned together from the start.

During the 2024 refit an automation system was installed for system control. Built with new-generation certified equipment, the project was commissioned and handed over in 2024.

Technical note: The work followed the refit schedule, so the automation was ready and running when the yacht left the yard.

During a refit at Didim Marina the entire faulty yacht automation system was renewed. Generator controls and synchronisation systems were installed, and the yacht was relaunched in 2025.

Technical note: Generator synchronisation lets the gensets run in parallel, share the load and transfer power without a blackout.

2024 · Simrad NSO evo3 · Main switchboard renewal

The old-generation automation system was refitted and rebuilt with new-generation networked visualisation. Automation was made controllable from Simrad NSO evo3 displays. The electrical system was refitted and the main switchboards replaced.

Technical note: Renewing the automation and main switchboards in one project kept the signal and power sides consistent and documented.

The automation system was refitted. Over time, air-conditioning, general lighting and pump controls were added to the new-generation system.

Technical note: Because the system was built to be expandable, new functions were added step by step without replacing the existing infrastructure.

Navigation systems automation was carried out, adding navigation light alarms and deck lighting controls. The yacht's navigation automation software and design had also been done by our team in 2015.

Technical note: Reporting navigation light failures as alarms removes a risk that is hard to notice when sailing at night.
